Source: netbeans-ide
Version: 6.0.1+dfsg-2
Severity: wishlist

Hi Daniel,

with openjdk-6 in main it should be easier to move netbeans-ide from
contrib to main. Some of its libraries are needed for glassfish (Bug
#506291) which is in main already. But the current netbeans-ide package
ships some binary only jar files that are not packaged for Debian yet.
Currently I see 2 possible ways to get netbeans into main:

1) Drop all binary only jars and build a smaller netbeans-ide package
which probably does not provide any end user functionality because
important libraries are not packaged yet.

or

2) Create a new source package 'netbeans' that only builds those parts
that can be built in main and keep the netbeans-ide package in contrib.

What do you think?

Cheers,
Torsten
