Package: gdk-imlib1
Version: 1.9.14-6
Severity: normal
gdk-imlib1 prints "all fallbacks failed" on certain valid packed
PPMs (P6). That's because it wants a newline between height and
maxval. This is incorrect ; the PPM format allows any
whitespace.
At http://www.teaser.fr/~amajorel/misc/bad.ppm.bz2, you'll find
one such PPM. Gimp and Xv load it fine ; Eeyes and Xzgv (which
use gdk-imlib1) say "all fallbacks failed" and give up.
The bug is in upstream. In io-ppm.c, the PPM header is read with
fgets(). That code needs to be rewritten to use fgetc() or
fscanf() so as not to be line oriented.
gdk-imlib1 1.9.14-2 also has the bug, so woody is affected as
well.
Thank you for your time.
