The instructions given in README.Debian are incomplete
for end-users not very familiar with the Debian system.
When not it the correct group, nothing happens when you
clic on "/dev/cdrom" as described in the documentation.

Please find in attachement a patch that explains how
to give access to /dev/cdrom in the Debian way.

path to the CD-ROM drive with the audio CD you would like to play.
On most systems this would be something like /dev/cdrom, /dev/hdc,
 /dev/scd0, etc.
+
+You must ensure that the user has the proper rights to the device.
+Note that /dev/hdc, /dev/scd0, etc. often belongs to the group "disk".
+You should first give it to the "cdrom" group:
+	chgrg cdrom /dev/hdc (as root)
+You must then add your user(s) to the "cdrom" group:
+	adduser <login> cdrom
+
You can switch between digital audio extraction and standard analog
audio playback (if you have the appropriate CD audio cable connected
to your soundcard) by configuring libcdread in Preferences.
