metamail has left a debug message that says "pre access" in the
production version of the code that gets shipped in the Debian
package. You can provoke it by running metamail on a message
with an unknown MIME type. You should get something like this:

1 -- See it as text
2 -- Write it to a file
3 -- Just skip it

(I'm assuming the 'tried to remove non tmplist file' message
is an artifact of the way I'm invoking metamail -- it doesn't
happen when my MTA (nmh) calls metamail, but the 'pre access'
trace does.)

be printed if in debugging mode:
