When building 'xwave' as root in a clean chroot, I get the following error:

dpkg-deb: control directory has bad permissions 2755 (must be >=0755 and <=0775)
dpkg-deb: building package `xwave' in `../xwave_0.6+2-9_amd64.deb'.
make: *** [binary-arch] Error 2

As root I get

# apt-get source xwave
# ls -l
drwxrwsr-x 12 1000 1000 4096 Aug 7 14:35 xwave-0.6+2

Please fix the permissions in the *orig.tar.gz tarball.

Regards
Andreas Jochens

 .
   * debian/rules (clean): Turn off setgid bit on every file in the source
directory. Unfortunately, the .orig.tar.gz file contains the setgid
bit set on all the directories, which causes problems if the tar file
gets unpacked as root. (Closes: #264172)
