Bug#231481: dpkg fails to stop distributed-net when upgrading and setting up

Package: distributed-net
Version: 2.9001.478-2
Severity: important
Tags: sid

After apt-get upgrading distributed-net from Sarge (distributed-net version 2.8015.46-10), the package unpacks, but
then it hangs on "setting up distributed-net". Distributed-net version 2.8015.46-10 was running in the background
(as it usually is). I then manually killed distributed-net, and then apt-get was able to install and set up
distributed-net just fine. So something needs to be added/fixed to properly stop any running distributed-net
processes.
