Subject: scp doesn't recognize destination symlink as a directory
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
Delivered-To: submit@bugs.debian.org

Package: ssh2
Version: 2.0.13-5.1

When copying a file to a remote location that is a symlink to another
directory, scp returns an error:

  dragon:~> scp file tolkien:~/tmp/
  bcwhite@tolkien's password:
warning: Destination file is not a directory.
  warning: Exiting.

Yet, on tolkien, we see:

  tolkien:~> ll -d tmp
  lrwxrwxrwx    1 bcwhite  precidia       16 May 31 14:36 tmp -> /var/tmp/bcwhite/

The latter "/var/tmp/bcwhite" does exist and is a directory.

Hi!

Ssh2 was removed from the Debian archive this morning. It's
replacement, openssh (ssh package), does not seem to be affected
by this bug; therefore, I'm closing it.

Kind regards,
Bas Zoetekouw.
