Package: honyaku-el
Version: 1.02-2

I can't see Japanese characters in the mode line and minibuffer
when I executed honyaku-* functions (e.g. C-x y p).

I found three ways of preventing this problem:

  (1) remove byte-compiled file. (use honyaku.el instead of honyaku.elc)

  (2) use iso-2022-jp instead of euc-jp for honyaku.el, and rebuild.

  (3) add `;;; -*- Coding: euc-jp-unix -*-' to the top of honyaku.el,
    and rebuild. (maybe `euc-jp-unix' naming depends on emacsen version)

I'm using Debian GNU/Linux sid, kernel 2.4.16, and these packages:

----
ii libc6 2.2.4-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries and Timezone
ii emacs20 20.7-12 The GNU Emacs editor.
ii emacs20-el 20.7-12 GNU Emacs LISP (.el) files.
ii emacsen-common 1.4.13 Common facilities for all emacsen.
ii honyaku-el 1.02-2 Honyakudamashii client for emacsen

Description:
 honyaku-el - Honyaku-damashii client for emacsen
Closes: 123314 136763
Changes:
 honyaku-el (1.02-4) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * New maintainer.
   * I should say I was(and am) not so interested in maintaining this stuff,
     but since accidentally I found Honyaku-damashii can be run on my sid box,
     now it became different story...
   * Applied Tatsuya Kinoshita's patch - closes: #123314, #136763
   * honyaku-skip-regex -> honyaku-skip-regexp (seems Tatsuya left some).
   * Add some lengthy notes about how to use Honyaku-damashii on
     woody/sid/whatever to README.Debian.
