Using google with a search on lists.debian.org for the 3 names > that are currently in returns - nothing that is an advocation mail. DM is not fully implemented yet. AIUI, aj is still adding support in DAK to auto-accept the byhand keyring -- but only if it was uploaded by a member of the DM keyring team. He may also still have some more tests of the whole system, I'm not sure. I think it's not unreasonable to defer announcements of additions to the keyring until we've finished putting into place the system to manage and use the keyring. The current 3 people in the DM keyring agreed to be beta testers of the process, and I don't anticipate us adding more people until everything is fully implemented and tested. The debian-maintainers source package contains information about who advocated each DM, as part of the changeset that adds them to the keyring: joey@kodama:~/src/debian-maintainers>head debian-maintainers/add-fabo Recommended-By: Pierre Habouzit <madcoder@debian.org> Changed-By: Anthony Towns <ajt@debian.org> Comment: adding Fathi Boudra as debian-maintainer Date: Sat, 17 Mar 2007 09:36:20 +0000 Advocates: madcoder - http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2007/03/msg00103.html stratus - http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2007/03/msg00135.html ana - http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2007/03/msg00131.html KeyCheck: gpg: requesting key 6AA572F7 from hkp server subkeys.pgp.net If a DM is in NM, we're also currently accepting an advocation in the NM process in leu of a mailing list post. I think this is a useful way to cut down on the beauracracy involved. The NM docs on adocating say: | You should only advocate someone if you think that they are ready to be a | developer. This is mostly because debian-maintainers currently lives in jetring's svn repo, which in retrospect was a bad decision. I plan to set up a separate alioth project, and add the other committers then. -- see shy jo, not a fan of slavish adherence to rules, especially when I can write a debhelper to follow them for me instead [1] OH THE HORROR!
