Bug#664258: hplip: Hplip Deb: very ugly packaging and dependencies

Package: hplip
Severity: normal

Hi,

Very simply by hte following dirty work of deb maker, I am selling over EBAY my HP office. Really.

HPLIP is really a bunch of mess. That's definitely the worst package to be seen for debian. Why not to install X11 and also GNOME + KDE, and also firefox? - Yeah, you forgot firefox (iceweasel) in the dependencies ;) lol

Seriously., for people that are using HP printers, on a server, please make it simple or split HPLIP into :

HPLIP-DRIVER	with only the driver for printing + sane

HPLIP-SERVER	for servers (with only the drivers + few server dep)

HPLIP for common users and novices

That would greatly improve the package, otherwise (it kinda s****)

Anyhow I am moving away from HP, since it provides messy boxes with unecessary packages.

We have other better printing offers.

Regards
Thanks anyhow
