From what you have posted below the package looks fine.

Package clearly depends on correct version of libhpmud.

If your python has never been configured then your dpkg configuration is 
messed up.  This isn't a hplip issue, rather your system configuration is 
questionable :-(

I would suggest you try the following:

# dpkg --configure -a

See what gets configured..

# cd /var/cache/apt/archives
# dpkg -i hplip_3.10.5-1_amd64.deb libhpmud0_3.10.5-1_amd64.deb

See what gets installed..
