Package: cupsys-client Version: 1.2.7-4 Severity: important I have a CUPS server on my network, and I can print fine on it, using /usr/bin/lp. I can print single or multiple documents alright. I can also print with /usr/bin/lp from any network client, but only for single documents. If I specify more than one document on the lp command line, nothing happens. If I print a single document, I get these entries in access_log local: localhost - - [14/Mar/2007:10:57:33 +0100] "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 354 CUPS-Get-Classes successful-ok localhost - - [14/Mar/2007:10:57:33 +0100] "POST /printers/hplj3052 HTTP/1.1" 200 7066482 Print-Job successful-ok remote: 192.168.14.3 - - [14/Mar/2007:10:57:33 +0100] "POST /printers/hplj3052 HTTP/1.1" 200 8726101 Print-Job successful-ok 192.168.14.3 - - [14/Mar/2007:10:57:33 +0100] "POST /printers/hplj3052 HTTP/1.1" 200 243 Get-Job-Attributes successful-ok localhost - - [14/Mar/2007:10:57:33 +0100] "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 369 Get-Jobs successful-ok localhost - - [14/Mar/2007:10:57:33 +0100] "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 393 Get-Jobs successful-ok 192.168.14.3 - - [14/Mar/2007:10:57:43 +0100] "POST /printers/hplj3052 HTTP/1.1" 200 243 Get-Job-Attributes successful-ok 192.168.14.3 - - [14/Mar/2007:10:57:54 +0100] "POST /printers/hplj3052 HTTP/1.1" 200 243 Get-Job-Attributes successful-ok 192.168.14.3 - - [14/Mar/2007:10:58:04 +0100] "POST /printers/hplj3052 HTTP/1.1" 200 243 Get-Job-Attributes successful-ok 192.168.14.3 - - [14/Mar/2007:10:58:14 +0100] "POST /printers/hplj3052 HTTP/1.1" 200 243 Get-Job-Attributes successful-ok localhost - - [14/Mar/2007:10:58:14 +0100] "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 369 Get-Jobs successful-ok localhost - - [14/Mar/2007:10:58:14 +0100] "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 393 Get-Jobs successful-ok 192.168.14.3 - - [14/Mar/2007:10:58:24 +0100] "POST /printers/hplj3052 HTTP/1.1" 200 243 Get-Job-Attributes successful-ok Printing multiple documents only results in: local: localhost - - [14/Mar/2007:10:59:26 +0100] "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 354 CUPS-Get-Classes successful-ok localhost - - [14/Mar/2007:10:59:26 +0100] "POST /printers/hplj3052 HTTP/1.1" 200 234 Create-Job successful-ok localhost - - [14/Mar/2007:10:59:26 +0100] "POST /printers/hplj3052 HTTP/1.1" 200 7064762 Send-Document successful-ok localhost - - [14/Mar/2007:10:59:26 +0100] "POST /printers/hplj3052 HTTP/1.1" 200 10988251 Send-Document successful-ok remote: [nothing] Using tcpdump, I find that there are zero packets received by the remote print server when the client prints multiple documents. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-amd64 Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages cupsys-client depends on: ii adduser 3.102 Add and remove users and groups ii cupsys-common 1.2.7-4 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcupsys2 1.2.7-4 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libgnutls13 1.4.4-3 the GNU TLS library - runtime libr ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-13 compression library - runtime Versions of packages cupsys-client recommends: ii cupsys-bsd 1.2.7-4 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - -- no debconf information -- .''`. martin f. krafft <madduck@debian.org> : :' : proud Debian developer, author, administrator, and user `. `'` http://people.debian.org/~madduck - http://debiansystem.info `- Debian - when you have better things to do than fixing systemsAttachment: signature.asc
