Package: cupsys
Version: 1.1.20final+cvs20040330-3
Severity: normal
File: cups

With the autodiscovery stuff turned on, my Brother HL-1450 appears as
it should uner the Shared Printers list in OS X. Choosing this printer,
though, and printing to it will create a job that crashes the printer
every time.

However, if I add a generic IP-based LPD queue with OS X's printing manager
and print to that, CUPS on the linux box will accept the job and print
it beautifully every time.

I've seen something about RAW streams and enabling raw octet streams on the
linux server when printing from OS X, but I tried that and the jobs
still failed when I printed to the auto-discovered queue.

Thanks.
Chris Horn.

Dear bug submitter,

This bug was reported against a very old version of cups (older than
in the current stable Debian version "Etch"). About a year ago,
Martin-Eric Racine asked for feedback whether the bug still applied to
the current Debian Etch version, but we did not get any feedback. In
order to not keep around old, hardware-specific, and inactive bugs
around forever, I close this bug now.

Please report back if you still experience the problem with the
current version in Etch; if you can test Lenny/unstable, that would be
highly appreciated, of course. I will reopen this bug then.

Thank you for your report!

Martin
