Package: cupsys Version: 1.1.19final-4 Severity: wishlist File: cups If I attempt to tell a Windows 2000 box to print through CUPS to a natively-Postscript HP printer, the Windows 2000 box generates PJL in front of the Postscript code. This causes CUPS to interpret the data as text instead of Postscript code. It would be nice if CUPS could detect this PJL and recognize that the data being passed to it should not be treated as text. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux tea 2.4.21-ow2 #6 SMP 三 10月 22 12:14:24 EDT 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=zh_TW.Big5, LC_CTYPE=zh_TW.Big5 Versions of packages cupsys depends on: ii adduser 3.51 Add and remove users and groups ii debconf 1.3.20 Debian configuration management sy ii gs-esp 7.07.1-1 The Ghostscript Postscript interpr ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libcupsimage2 1.1.19final-4 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libcupsys2 1.1.19final-4 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libpam0g 0.76-14 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpaper1 1.1.13 Library for handling paper charact ii libslp1 1.0.11-5 OpenSLP libraries ii libssl0.9.7 0.9.7c-5 SSL shared libraries ii zlib1g 1:1.1.4-16 compression library - runtime -- debconf information: cupsys/raw-print: true

Dear bug submitter, This bug was reported against a very old version of cups (older than in the current stable Debian version "Etch"). About a year ago, Martin-Eric Racine asked for feedback whether the bug still applied to the current Debian Etch version, but we did not get any feedback. In order to not keep around old, hardware-specific, and inactive bugs around forever, I close this bug now. Please report back if you still experience the problem with the current version in Etch; if you can test Lenny/unstable, that would be highly appreciated, of course. I will reopen this bug then. Thank you for your report! Martin -- Martin Pitt | http://www.piware.de Ubuntu Developer (www.ubuntu.com) | Debian Developer (www.debian.org)Attachment: signature.asc
