Bug#440644: cupsys: update on problem: browser will not amend config file

I reinstalled the printer drivers. I can now print. I used a package from
Brother and installed locally ..dpkg - i etc
However when I then to set the printer to be the default on
localhost:631, then after entering the root password, the screen said
that the default was now enabled
The error log read as follows

Needless to say,, to print i need to specify the printer
