Bug#323796: cupsys: Web UI: confuses user with links to remote printservers
Package: cupsys
Version: 1.1.23-12
Severity: normal
When I define a remote IPP printer with Raw type, CUPS web UI replaces
all the links for managing the printer with remote links to the actual
server. This is very confusing and it took some time to understand why
my settings did not work or why access was suddenly denied.
Additionally, there is now no way to modify the printer (for example
change the URL or printer driver) or set the printer as default printer
(via UI). The changes are still possible by copying the remote urls from
the buttons and changing the hostname back by hand.
I suggest adding additional buttons for remote operations but leave the
normal buttons alone. This is probably a possible upstream change.
