Mine being Xeon the frequency are likely lower, and the storage is
spinning rust (a ZFS mirrored pool on a couple of old SAS drive). So
you should be at least as fast, if not perceptively faster...

Well, I gave it a go just in case :-), and the VM dies very quickly
(don't even see a kernel message) with the host kernel (5.4)
complaining of "user access to kernel address". Both with a
home-compiled QEMU 4.1 & Debian's 4.2, using a clone of the PPC64EL
filesystem (ZFS send/recv). I don't see more than 100% load from QEMU,
but it's not conclusive as I'm not sure the kernel gets a chance to
spin up the other cores...
