Thanks again, specifing AGPMode it looks to solve the problem.
I was quite lucky, so I never needed before to reconfigure my xorg.conf
(even on oldworld apple machines). Sorry for the stupid question: Could
you suggest a link where one can study different options for xorg (I
gave always up when I was looking at the official web site)

Last question: on my Lenovo is running quite stable Squeeze. I would
like to upgrade also the PowerMac to Squeeze, so that I can work with
same program version. I did it a couple of months ago but I had big
problems so I went back to Lenny. Does it look a bit better
now?
