Good to know ..

I have another problem now: I can clone my alubook5,8 KDE-screen (not
the console, I'm sorry) to an old 1998 VGA monitor, VESA compatible,
IINM. The VGA has a maximum resolution of 1280x1024 (64kHz/60Hz), the
alubook 1440x960 (the latter is actually used for the alubook in clone
mode) - but so far I had to choose 1024x768 for the VGA (xorg.conf
below) to get a working response from that old beast.

The problem now: I can only see the cloned center of the KDE screen
on the VGA - to see the rest of the alubook screen on the VGA I have
to move the mouse to the respective edges on the alubook screen. This
move is seen on the VGA and the screen changes on the latter to the
place where the mouse moves on the alubook.

The question:

To get the complete alubook screen mirrored to the VGA, without the
need to move the mouse on the alubook to see the rest of the alu
screen on the VGA: Is the only available solution for that to scale
down the aluscreen from currently 1440x960 to, e.g., 1024x768? Because 
1024x768, as noted above, seems to be the maximum I can get in that
mode for the VGA?
