Re: Etch on old world with 2.5.15-1 and Quik

hmmm. funny thing. i finished the package
upgrades today, booted from 2.6.8-3 with bootx
(had to restore the modules tree from a backup)

just figured i would try 15 again, and aha, it worked
!
but then now i just booted and it quits again...

turns out it need termination on the scsci bus,
or else it just quits before the penguin.

also that most of the difference i thought
in the startup screen is just a long pause while it
is loading up the module tree, as i said bug
in mkinit apparently. when booting 2.6.8 the first
screen goes by so fast you can barely see it,
its just like a flash.

any questions or comments here, please speak up,
i am planning to make my installation report in the
next few days.

also i have yet to get xorg started, that's another
thing.
