Re: How do you get sound output on powerpc?



There are a couple of modules (drivers) that need to be loaded by the
system. Do

lsmod

at the command line (terminal window) and look for sound_core and
dmasound_pmac (or similar). Depending on your installation, you may need
to choose OSS sound modules for playback (with xmms for example). Also
check sound mixer setting for correct parameters.

OSS has a mixed reputation on ppc, I use it on a mac mini but others
prefer ALSA, here is a link
