I know I not being so helpful, but there should be a AM macro added in
the Makefile.in file.
It should be a library check, so I _assume_ is something like
AM_CHECK(library) or something.
Looking at an existing example should make it easier; I suggest a
media player which used autotools (xmms or beep-media-player, maybe)
