alsa, kernel 2.6.5, & b&w g3
So, I've successfully made the upgrade to kernel 2.6 now & am nearly
finished, I think. My main problem now is with alsa. In kernel 2.4 I
found that OSS supported the internal sound on my b&w g3 quite well,
but couldn't get alsa to work. I decided to try ALSA again when
making the upgrade... Interestingly, I can get sound to work quite
well through the OSS simulation modules -- so when I choose OSS output
in xmms or other applications, everything works fine. But when using
alsa, I get a 'no such device' error ("** WARNING **: alsa_setup():
Failed to open pcm device (default): No such device"). Modconf also
refuses to install snd-powermac. The sound portion of my .config is
as follows, maybe someone sees the problem?
