When i increase the record level (like gain) with PCM, the random noise rises, too. In alsamixer i have no special microphone device, so i dont know if i am recording from the speakers or from the microphone. Im running 2.6.3-rc3-ben1 and try to rip with 'rec -r 44100 -d /dev/dsp -c 2 test.wav'Sounds like it could be an endianness problem, have you played with the sample format and bit/byte order options of rec? Have you tried arecord?
yes i did, but still without success. IMHO all i can record until now comes from the speakers. Shouldn't there be a controller in e.g. alsamixer for the mic, or the facility to choose the input device i want to record from by pressing space ? So there's no driver support for recording/the microphone ? regards, clee -- moqua [at] gmx.net moqua [at] kurtenba.ch
