USB Mouse spurious disconnect/reconnect

Hi

Every so often, my USB mouse (MS-Intellimouse 2 buttons + wheel) suffurs
a spurious disconnection and right after that a re-connection. The cable
is fine, I think.

The problem is that it comes back as another device and X doesn't follow
this re-organization. Thus the mouse pointer is stuck.

I found nothing else than rebooting, even restarting X doesn't solve the
problem.

syslog shows this :
Feb 5 09:12:42 tsfmok kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device
10:18.0-2.2 address 4
Feb 5 09:12:43 tsfmok kernel: hub.c: new USB device 10:18.0-2.2,
assigned address 7
Feb 5 09:12:43 tsfmok kernel: input: USB HID v0.01 Mouse [Microsoft
Microsoft IntelliMouse ® with IntelliEye] on usb1:7.0

Any help ?

Marco
