Re: PowerMac 7100/80 won't boot

ok -- calm down a bit
there are people who know how to get this done, but things take time as we
all have our own things that need to get done.

best bet- do as clive suggested- get a macos CD - ( i recomend 7.6.1 but
just about any system will work.)

format the hard disk, with 1 small macos partition - you can do the rest of
the HD partitioning from the debian installer.

get into the installer like i advised in a previous email- skip any kinds of
device drivers, and do not set the option (make system bootable).

install the base system, configure the network, and reboot.

replace the installer kernel with the normal kernel, and then make sure that
your lilo.conf file is correct.

you need to have a line saying:
mach_options= keyboard_sends_linux_keycodes=1

if you are using an HPV video card then the line should read:

mach_options= keyboard_sends_linux_keycodes=1 video=nbpmacfb

and another one saying:
rootdev=/dev/sda6

however, the partition and number of your "/" filesystem will depend on how
you setup your hard disk.

good luck!
