Re: how can i improve open gl performance on a tibook 400?

cheers everyone. glxgears now at 330+ fps . bring it on! i can finally regain some pride in bzflag :)

All i had to do in the end was compile r128 DRM as a kernel module and get a decent XF86Config-4 file.

I still have a problem though - my display is now stuck at 1024x768. How can i make it display at 1152x768? the console is at 1152x768 but it goes to 1024x768 when i startx. I think i have the correct lines in XF86Config-4:
e.g.

        SubSection "Display"
                Depth 16
                Modes "1152x768"
        EndSubSection

i also have this

Section "Monitor"
        Identifier "Generic Monitor"
        HorizSync 28-49
        VertRefresh 43-72
        Option "DPMS"
        Modeline "1152x768" 78.741 1152 1173 1269 1440 768 769 772 800 +HSync +VSync
EndSection

in the "monitor" section, but no joy (well apart from seeing the gears spinning stupidly fast)

Any ideas?

cheers

matthew
