Yes, the only thing it gets from the server is the kernel and yaboot. But
it might be possible to nfs-mount a root device, with the right kernel. I
seem to remember someone on this list trying that for the prep architecture.

Yes, but the easier place to get it from is /usr/lib/yaboot/yaboot.
