Ethernet nor recognized

Question:
The Ethernet card of my PowerBookG3 doesn't get recognized by my updated Woody.

During boot, I get:
SCIOCSIFADDR: no such device
eth0: error while getting interface flags: no such device

and in fact, lspci gives me only this:
00:0b.0 Host bridge: Apple Computer Inc. UniNorth AGP
00:10.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage Mobility M3 AGP 2x (rev 02)
01:0b.0 Host bridge: Apple Computer Inc. UniNorth PCI
01:17.0 Class ff00: Apple Computer Inc. KeyLargo Mac I/O (rev 03)
01:18.0 USB Controller: Apple Computer Inc. KeyLargo USB
01:19.0 USB Controller: Apple Computer Inc. KeyLargo USB
01:1a.0 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCI1211
06:0b.0 Host bridge: Apple Computer Inc. UniNorth PCI
06:0f.0 Class ffff: Apple Computer Inc. UniNorth GMAC (rev ff)
(I don't know what all this corresponds to, but there is no Ethernet inside.)

But my kernel has NE2K_PCI modulised, and module ieee1394 is inserted in /etc/modules and it gets accepted with "modprobe ieee" (or "ieee1394" as I remember).

subsidiary question:
In which /dev should be the ethernet card?

Thanks
