Another KDE install failure...

From what I've been reading on the mailing list I am not alone in this. I'm running potato 2.2r2.

With apt-get, I'm using the line:
deb http://kde.tdyc,com potato main crypto optional, and have tried some variants of such.

"apt-get install task-kde (or) kdebase" produces the long list of unmet dependencies reported by others.

Apt-getting the missing libraries fails as well.

Using dselect, I can get things narrowed down to a missing library 'libmng1.' I tracked this down and can't seem meet its dependcies either. If it's really necessary to go on a long library hunt I will, but I'm more inclined to think I'm doing some basic thing incorrectly. Is it really this tricky to get KDE?

Thanks for any help.

Dan Jewett
