i don't have that problem... are you SURE that CONFIG_RTC is disabled?
grep -i rtc /boot/config-2.4.8-pre7-ben0
i am running:
eb@dogberto eb$ uname -sr
Linux 2.4.8-pre7-bh20010810.1
that version number is the date, now if benh would just make his
version numbers mean something....
