I bet this is a FAQ on debian-user. :)

Packages aren't installed into the dists tree anymore put into the pool tree.

michdaen@pismo> apt-cache show kaffe|grep -i file                            ~
Filename: pool/main/k/kaffe/kaffe_1.0.6-1.1_powerpc.deb


There have been quite some posts on this list about how to get selected
packages from unstable when running testing, perhaps that's the better way to
go than doing it manually.
