Help needed for X 4.0.2 & pismo
Hello, I went through the archives and it seems that people have no problem installing the new X server on pismo. But, as always, it is not working on my setup...
I'm using pure woody (testing) distribution except for the kernel which I built from BK's 2.2 rsync tree. On reading /var/log/messages, I found the line:
aty128fb: Rage Mobility M3 (AGP) [chip rev 0x0] 8M 128-bit SDR SGRAM (1:1)
So I put "ATI Rage 128 Mobility LF" in the device section of /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and did startx, but I always end up getting the error message "No devices detected." I played with kernel arguments (none, atyfb, aty128fb) and also with different device names that I picked up from /var/log/XFree86.0.log, but none of the combination worked and I'm running out of ideas. Can you help me?
