Booting kernel

Hello list,

I have downloaded a stack of stuff recently to convert the
7300 I have from YellowDog to Debian which I prefer and is better IMO.

OK, I downloaded the base-nn.bin and have saved these onto ZIP.
I have also downloaded rescue.bin, root.bin, linux, and the
floppy-boot-hqz.img file. I have loaded and checked BootX is OK.
I also have an NVRAM re-write utility which allows resetting
the NVRAM boot-device and boot-file. I also have another debian
i386 box which I use to talk to the modem port for the Open
Firmware ( 1.05 ).

I have the BootX working for the linux kernel but always seem to
fail to load a root filesystem on /dev/ram, /dev/fd0, /dev/sdd4
which is the Zip drive from yellow dog even tho it is Mac formatted.
Do I need to set some params for initrd ?

What are some decent params to write to NVRAM to get this to boot
and start the Debian install? Either from the console or from BootX
would do.

Should I trash the MacOS formatted Zip and make this ext2 and put the
install files there?

The 7300 doesn't like the zImage from the floppy-boot-hqz.img disk
even though it reads it OK. I will try again with beter floppies.
Should I copy the zImage from the floppy-boot-hqz.img and use this
with BootX.

Some small help would be appreciated.
