Package: popularity-contest
Version: 1.7
Severity: Minor

popularity-contest ensures a specific Perl version with the line
"use 5.6.0;". This generates a warning, as v-string syntax may not be
recognised by older Perl releases. "perldoc -f use" suggests
the equivalent "use 5.006_000;" instead.

Hello,

I am going to follow Colin Watson advice, and since perl 5.8.2
is now part of testing, I close this bug report as this version
of perl do not output a warning.

Thanks for your bug report,
