Looking at the repo, I see you've made some other changes.

I think that you should submit these as patches to the BTS so that the
maintainers of the package can review them.  Just committing them to the
master branch for a package you do not maintain is not good etiquette,
as it puts pressure on the maintainers to review your changes before
doing other work.  I would suggest nuking the salsa group and repo in
the meantime.
