Yeah, it's a GUI program we're running in batch mode.  In an ideal world,
there would be some separate library and CLI tool that would do batch
conversions that would be kept separate from all the GUI machinery, but
I'm sure life is short for upstream and they haven't had an obvious reason
to bother with this.
