implicitly assumed that any Perl developer would be particularly
interested in Debian.

There seems to be an attitude on the list generally that anything good
for Debian (-perl) is good for CPAN.  You seem to be one of the more
enthusiastic of that ilk so I was picking on you ;-).  It's useful to
remember that there are different communties with different histories
and philosophies and there have been minor irritations between FSF and
the Perl community in the past.  Mostly amusing to a bystander.

Having CPAN modules packaged for me is extremely useful so thank-you
(everyone) for that.

It still copies debian-perl.  I was mainly concerned with filling the
bug database with junk.  I have less concern for the mailing list.
