Solution is found Fwd: Libreoffice 25.2.3 in Debian 12/13 open files on server Bug

Dear Libreoffice maintainers,

in the meanwhile I've found a solution.

When I register "/bin/soffice" (instead of Libreoffice) in Firefox to open the file, Libreoffice 25.2.3 from Debian works as it should: Libreoffice opens the file via webdav.

Even nicer would be if this behaviour works someday "out of the box" in Debian 13 (or Debian 12 backport ...)

Have a nice day

Klaus Staedtler

Dear Libreoffice maintainers,

testing Debian 13 we discovered a bug. Whenever we want to open a libreoffice file on our server using firefox, libreoffice starts but it is empty, no file is opened.

What we've tested:

Debian 13: Libreoffice 25.2.3, Firefox 128.11ESR, Firefox 139 or Chromium 137 fails Debian 13: Libreoffice 25.2.4 from libreoffice org works, using libreoffce 24.8.7 from libreoffice.org works too. Debian 12: Libreoffice 25.2.3 from backports using Firefox 128.11ESR fails.
Debian 12: Using Libreoffice 7.6.7 using Firefox 128.11ESR works.
Windows 11: Using Libreoffice 25.2.3 with Firefox 139 works.

We've already contacted the maintainers of our server. They told us it is a bug in Libreoffice.

if you need further informations or tests. Please don't hesitate to contact us.

Maybe you know my name from Gimp (or DVB-Deamon or ...), our company is a non-profit organisation with nearly 200 clients relying on Debian.

Thanks for your ongoing efforts.
