E: Command 'cd /<<PKGBUILDDIR>> && runuser -u user42 -- dpkg-buildpackage --sanitize-env -us -uc -rfakeroot -S' failed to run.

So dh_clean fails. I'd buy your argument if it was before/after dh_cllean or something is left-over but this is quite obviously not a bug here.

OK, I got teached that removing dirs need / and apparently did it since ever. Then I still wonder why it wasn't caught in the "ftbfs when built two times in a row" builds in the last years....

Interesting this doesn't appear in experimentals libixion even though that neither having the /...
