When starting libreoffice on a file with the command
$ libreoffice *.doc &
($ is the user prompt), an office window appears, but it stops
right at start-up, and a small window comes up with the
header "LibreOffice 3.4 -Fatal Error <2>" and the message
in the window is "The application cannot be started.
A general error occurred while accessing your central
configuration."
Libre office used to work until fairly recently (perhaps
until the end of May, I do not use it often). I did not do
anything other than doing regular upgrades (on all of
Debian Wheezy).
The version I am using is the latest version availabe
on Debian Wheezy, though my understanding is that in other
Debian repositories newer versions are available. I was
somewhat afraid to download these other versions so as
not to upset the consistency of my installation.
