I don't use any session manager and I don't use Nautilus either.

The processes with "gnome" somewhere in their command line:
root 1640 1582 0 Aug30 ? 00:00:00 /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-simple-slave --display-id /org/gnome/DisplayManager/Display1
vinc17 10993 3163 0 Sep03 ? 00:00:00 gnome-volume-control.gstreamer

I have DESKTOP_SESSION and GDMSESSION env vars (both set by gdm3,
I suppose), and GNOME_KEYRING_CONTROL and GNOME_KEYRING_PID, but
nothing else related to GNOME.

Perhaps I could check with gdb when I go back home.
