Hi,
I'm Japanese so use Openoffice.org with openoffice.org-l10n-ja package.
When I've removed openoffice.org-l10n-ja package, Impress's Presentation
Wizard shows many Presentation Backgrounds those are not shown with
openoffice.org-l10n-ja package. With -ja package, we can use only 2
background images. It's strange, don't you think so?

No. I bet it just falls back to en-US when you don't have
-l10n-ja installed, and AFAIS -ja only has 2 backgrounds indeed:
