Only for confirming, that someone else can reproduce.

I can reprduce this in the same way as described.

 1. right click on a cell and choose "Formats Cells ..."
 2. Empty "Format code" and press "Ok".

Immediately oocalc crashes.

In Ubuntu Launchpad there is a bugreport regarding this:
