Note that "openoffice.org" is nothing else than a metapackage. It installs
everything upstream ships in their installset. This includes Java stuff or
stuff needing Java.

Not lenny.

Sure?

If you installed etchs "openoffice.org" pmetapackage you slready should
have most of them. So they are just upgraded.

The Database engine of openoffice.org. (i.e. -base depends on it)

Suggested.

Which one of them did you have installed before the dist-upgrade?

No, you too :P

For example, liblucene2-java (which you have installed) is a Depends
of the openoffice.org metapackage only in 3.0.0 (experimental)
and the -help-packages there recommend it (you need it for searching in the
help). This probably then also causes to install a JVM and other deps.

Feel free to test with a clean etch->lenny upgrade. (And tell which packges
you had installed beforehand and which brokenly get installed).

Not in lenny.

In Summary: This bugreport doesn't exactly make much sense....
