The usual (so-called "hidden") .config files in my, e.g., home dir,
with names starting with a dot.

Why am I not astonished to hear that? :) ... I mean, this is 2008, not
1948. In these old days I would have accepted issues like the one
described to belong to the wishlist. But today ... ?
