That said, works fine for me in a i386 chroot  on an amd64 system. With
testings 2.3.1-3 (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16)

Of course, I see this via scrolling via mouse-wheel on my ppc mac mini
g4, but as we all know that's not a real fast processor compared to
todays ones anyway.
