Hello,

When I start OOo on my system, the user interface is in english. My current
locale settings is like this:
jan@snoopy:~$ locale
LANG=de_DE@euro
LC_CTYPE="de_DE@euro"
LC_NUMERIC="de_DE@euro"
LC_TIME="de_DE@euro"
LC_COLLATE="de_DE@euro"
LC_MONETARY="de_DE@euro"
LC_MESSAGES=C
LC_PAPER="de_DE@euro"
LC_NAME="de_DE@euro"
LC_ADDRESS="de_DE@euro"
LC_TELEPHONE="de_DE@euro"
LC_MEASUREMENT="de_DE@euro"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="de_DE@euro"
LC_ALL=

IMO, the user interface should be in german. A little bit of editing
/usr/bin/openoffice indicates, that the right language specification is
loaded:
--- /usr/bin/openoffice ---
[...]
LANG=$LOCALE
export LANG

echo
env
echo
echo
locale
echo

exec "/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice" "$@"
[...]
--- end ---

jan@snoopy:~$ openoffice

Starting configuration import into user data ..
.. importing layer file:///tmp/oooLocale.XXXXAl8VXA - succeeded

[...]
LC_MESSAGES=C
LANG=de_DE@euro
[..]

LANG=de_DE@euro
LC_CTYPE="de_DE@euro"
LC_NUMERIC="de_DE@euro"
LC_TIME="de_DE@euro"
LC_COLLATE="de_DE@euro"
LC_MONETARY="de_DE@euro"
LC_MESSAGES=C
LC_PAPER="de_DE@euro"
LC_NAME="de_DE@euro"
LC_ADDRESS="de_DE@euro"
LC_TELEPHONE="de_DE@euro"
LC_MEASUREMENT="de_DE@euro"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="de_DE@euro"
LC_ALL=

jan@snoopy:~$

The imported layer file also seems to get the right values (commenting the
rm):
[...]
<value>de-DE</value>
[...]

The Language settings under Tools|Options|Languages|Language settings are
also correctly adjusted to 'German'. As you can see below, the right packages
are also installed.

Let me know, if I can do something else to help this matter. I would
really like to get my german interface back :)

Jan

Dear openoffice.org user,

Thanks for your interest in OO.org and the bug report you have contributed.

Your bug report [0] was done for a version which is now quite old (pre
version 2.0.0).

During the last 6 weeks I sent 3 requests to update this bug report, and verify
that this bug still exists with a more up to date version of OO.org.

Since the bug is quite old, and I didn't get any response regarding this bug,
I'm closing it. I'm using the current unstable version for proving version info.

If you'll find this bug to still exist in a future version of OO.org, please
reopen the bug and specify the affected version.. Let me know if you need help
with this process.
