The mailing list is ok; since its a bug you could have used the BTS too.

It's a bug. OOo does not try to read KDEDIRS at all. Upstream has even
worse KDE integration - it does not read KDEHOME or use the menu font.
I was actually planning on submitting our patch upstream, but it looks
like we need to add support for KDEDIRS support to it too.
Filing a report to make sure this doesn't get forgotten.

Version: 2.2.1-7
Dear openoffice.org user,
Thanks for your interest in OO.org and the bug report you have contributed.
Your bug report [0] was done for a version which is now quite old (pre
version 2.0.0).
During the last 6 weeks I sent 3 requests to update this bug report, and verify
that this bug still exists with a more up to date version of OO.org.
Since the bug is quite old, and I didn't get any response regarding this bug,
I'm closing it. I'm using the current unstable version for proving version info.
If you'll find this bug to still exist in a future version of OO.org, please
reopen the bug and specify the affected version.. Let me know if you need help
with this process.
