Bug#391430: OO crashes when opening a *.doc, while openoffice.org-help-de is installed
Package: openoffice.org-help-de
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
-- System Information:
Debian Release: testing/unstable
APT prefers unstable
APT policy: (500, 'unstable')
Architecture: i386 (i686)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash
Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-ck1-schleppi666
Locale: LANG=de_DE@euro, LC_CTYPE=de_DE@euro (charmap=ISO-8859-15)
If this package is installed, opening a document in *.doc-Format will
crash the whole application. Deleting the .openoffice.org2 folder in the
users' home sometimes help for opening the doc once.
To make OO work again, I have to purge openoffice.org-help-de and remove
..openoffice.org2 in my /home
If needed, I can provide the tgz-versions of my broken .openoffice.org2
and the working one withhout openoffice.org-help-de installed.
For testing purposes I used a small .doc generated by OO and a .doc
generated by MS Office - no difference in behaviour:
Example errormessages:
# oowriter blubber.doc

terminate called without an active exception
** (process:28549): WARNING **: Unknown error forking main binary /
abnormal early exit ...
